Mixed Media

It's been a few months since my last style post, but I'm finally back on that fashion grind! This one is shot a bit differently than most of my outfits because I wasn't able to have an actual photo shoot due to the lack of a personal photographer and a desirable setting, but since I was itching to feature this jacket sent by Fevrie, I thought I'd try something new and take the pictures Instagram-style. Also, make sure to stay 'til the end for an awesome giveaway!

If you haven't heard of Fevrie, it's an upscale online boutique that features edgy and contemporary pieces inspired by the luxurious French culture and chic street style of L.A.

I'm really glad that they contacted me at the perfect time because my style typically gravitates more toward monochromatic and grungy during colder seasons. It took me a while to choose which item to review, but I finally went for this stunningly unique biker jacket that definitely caught my attention. It's quite an interesting twist to the classic leather jacket because it's a mixture of velvety brocade and vegan leather detailing, which instantly became an essential in my winter wardrobe.

White top: Brandy Melville, Bralette: DIY
Since Fevrie caters to the "young, modern, working woman," their items are certainly on the higher-end side when it comes to affordability. It's evident in the great quality of this jacket that it's priced the way it is. It's very timeless and luxurious and can be easily worn for large-scale events by pairing it with a little black dress or even for a casual day out with some distressed boyfriend jeans, minimalistic heels, and a plain white tee - the classic L.A. street style. I clearly went for the latter, but I can think of so many other ways to style this versatile piece.

The occasional trouble with online shopping is that you won't know how an item will fit unless the store provides exact measurements, but fortunately, this jacket turned out quite flattering on me. The structured form gives that modern sophisticated touch and the leather trim on the shoulders adds just the right amount of grit to toughen up the look.

Woven Joggers: Forever 21
Instead of boyfriend jeans, I opted for my favorite pair of joggers that I'm sure you've already seen a ton of if you follow me on Instagram. I thought it would be a more unconventional way to style this jacket, and I really wanted to convey just how versatile it can be. Since street style isn't exactly my thing, this pair is a great way to incorporate a bit of my own fashion sense. I kept my top very basic to balance the quirky bohemian element of the pants and the edginess of the jacket. The peek-a-boo bralette also seemed like a nice, tasteful touch to the otherwise conservative look.

Heels: Payless
Lastly, I went for a minimalist heel with a neutral palette that goes perfectly with the whole outfit!
