Sephora
Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 |
I got these as a birthday gift from Sephora two years ago. I love that they're super hydrating with a really sweet lemon scent. I don't know why I don't use them very often. They really are great products, and I'm amazed that they're still with me two years later! My lips have been quite dry lately, so maybe I'll go back to these when I run out of my eos lip balm.
Benefit Posietint and Benetint |
I bought this sample set a while ago that contained Benetint, Posietint, and High Beam (which I excluded here because it's a highlighter) for $15. These two are gorgeous cheek products but not so much as lip tints. They completely fade after an hour or so, and they're not very pigmented. However, they are absolutely stunning as blushes because they provide a very natural pop of color and glow to your cheeks. A little goes a long way for these guys because I've had them for over a year now. If you've always wanted to try them (especially the famous High Beam highlighter), buy the set with sample sizes because they'll last you at least a good few months, and all three are only for $15 as opposed to $20+ each!
Sephora Cream Lip Stains |
I've talked about this a few times and briefly reviewed it here months ago. I raved about it for a while, but the longer I wore it, the more disappointed I got. The best thing about this, however, is the incredible pigmentation. As you can see on the swatch below, they are super opaque and bold. The finish is completely matte, but it gets very patchy after a few hours, which is a really big pet peeve for me. I'll probably give it a try again if they come out with more natural and subtle colors.
01 Always Red & 04 Endless Purple |
The color payoff is definitely A+ though. They almost look like paint on the lips because of how concentrated the colors are.
E.L.F. Cosmetics
E.L.F. Matte Lip Colors & Lip Balm SPF 15 |
E.L.F.'s Matte Lip Color is one of my favorite drugstore lipsticks, but it's lacking a little bit in the color selection department. They need to come out with more versatile shades other than nudes and red. Although I do love Rich Red, it's a bit intense, and it has the least matte finish in the collection. I previously did a review on this, so check that out if you want to know more! As for their lip balm, it's a pretty decent tinted lip product, and I got through all of it (hence the absence of a swatch below), but there wasn't much product in it to begin with. It's not long-lasting by any means, but it's good for lazy days when you just want lip balm on you with a little bit of color.
E.L.F. Matte Lip Color - Rich Red & Praline |
As you can see, Rich Red is a very vibrant shade with some orange undertones. I love the consistency and lasting power, but I wish it was a more subtle shade. Praline looks great on photos, but it just looks dull and brownish in person.
Revlon
Hands down, Revlon makes some of the best drugstore lipsticks. I think the Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm was an okay product, but that's probably because lip stains just aren't for me. The Colorburst Matte Balm is undoubtedly my favorite lipstick of all time. I reviewed it here recently, so feel free to read that to see all of its wonders. I got a couple of Revlon's Super Lustrous lipsticks, but I think my mom brought them with her to Vegas. The only one I have here is in the shade Peach Me, which is a true coral shade with a bit of sheen to it. I'd really love it if it had a matte finish, but the collection only had a few mattes. Nonetheless, it's a great spring lip color.
Just Bitten Lip Stain in Twilight, Matte Balm in Sultry, Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me |
Here are the swatches showing the great pigmentation of these three colors!
NYX Cosmetics
Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp & Matte Lipstick in Natural |
There's been a long-lived hype about NYX's lip products, but I personally don't understand it. The soft matte lip cream feels hydrating and creamy at first but ends up patchy throughout the day with little staying power. The same goes for their matte lipsticks. Here I have the shade Natural, which is nothing like a "my lips but better" color but more of a pinkish mauve. I also had Whipped Caviar, but I seem to have misplaced it. Below I swatched the lip cream in Antwerp and matte lipstick in Natural.
Both have great color payoff but it's just the quality and lasting power that I'm not sold about.
Wet 'n Wild
Bare It All, Just Peachy, Smokin' Hot Pink, Wine Room, Spiked With Rum, Cherry Bomb |
These are definitely on the top of my lipstick favorites list right under Revlon's Matte Balm. I did a two-part review on this line covering 6 of their stunning shades. Read Part 1 and Part 2 for all the swatches and other details!
Etc.
Kleancolor Everlasting Lipstick in 758 Grape |
I bought this one from Daiso since it was only $1.50. It surprisingly has decent quality, and my favorite thing about it is the super sweet scent (and taste). It probably doesn't stay on my lips the whole day because I lick it so much.
The color on the packaging says "grape," but it's a lot more like a slightly dark, dusty rose shade, which is really pretty for fall. The shine bothers me a bit but that's only because I highly gravitate towards matte finishes.
Here's the ever so popular eos lip balm, which I personally don't find to be the best lip balm out there. A lot of the hype definitely goes to the adorable pastel, egg-shaped packaging. Sadly, I'm guilty of wanting to buy the rest of the colors just so I can put them on display, but hey, all of you makeup hoarders out there know that the other purpose of makeup is to just sit on your vanity table and look pretty.
Estēe Lauder Shimmer Gloss in 08 Plum Divine |
This purple lip gloss came in a makeup set that my mom bought two Christmases ago. The beautiful red bag displayed on a Macy's counter caught her attention, so she bought it and gave all the makeup to me. There were three other lipsticks with stunning gold packaging that came with the set, but unfortunately, I think my mom has them in Vegas as well. I definitely would've included them in this collection. Anyway, I don't wear lip gloss at all, let alone one with shimmer, but this would have looked great for holiday parties.
Last but not least, here's a really cute lip gloss set that my friend Tina gave me on my 18th birthday. Again, I'm not a big fan of lip gloss, but I love keeping this on my vanity for decor. I mean, how adorable is that iPhone packaging? Thanks again, Tina!
That's all for my collection so far. Knowing my newfound obsession with lip products, I'll definitely add much more to this collection, so I'll probably update in a few months. Thanks for reading!
xoxo,
wow great collection
