March 2014 Favorites

It's time for another monthly favorites! I bought quite a lot of things that I love this month, but these are some of my most favorite items!

Beauty
Sonia Kashuk Crème Blush in Blossom
As y'all know, I'm all about everything matte when it comes to makeup, so naturally I had to search for a blush with no speck of shimmer. I found this creme compact at Target and instantly fell in love with it once I applied it the first time. It's as natural as a blush can be because it provides a gorgeous dewy finish without looking like a grease ball. It gives a beautiful glow even when it doesn't have any shimmer in it. I wish I got a bolder shade though because this one is very subtle, but I still love how natural it looks!

Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay
I've been using this every day for the past month, and it might have just replaced my love for the original Naked palette simply because of the matte shades. I'll be doing an in-depth review on this soon, so be on the lookout if you're interested!
Hoola Bronzer by Benefit
This shouldn't be surprising since I recently wrote a very positive review on this gem! Everything I love is stated there, so check it out!
Anastasia Brow Wiz in Caramel
This eyebrow pencil won't be replaced for several years, or maybe ever. It's easy to use, long-lasting, and natural-looking. Enough said.

Forever 21 Nail Color in Head in the Clouds
I've been wearing this nail polish for weeks now because I've been really into the pastel trend this season. I never really owned a color like this before, so it was a nice addition to my collection.

Fashion
Forever 21 Cream Open-Knit Cardigan
As I said in my recent fashion haul, this cardigan is an absolute staple in my wardrobe. It's super versatile and comfortable, and it works year-round. Unfortunately, they're not selling this anymore and I'm not sure if they'll ever restock, although they seriously should because it's the perfect dupe for Brandy Melville's insanely overpriced Moselle cardigan.

Brandy Melville DIY Shorts
I actually got these a few months ago from a Brandy Melville warehouse sale, but I didn't really like them as jeans, so I cut it all off. Now it's my favorite pair of high waisted shorts! I love how skintight it is, yet it's extremely comfortable to wear. My issue with most of my high waisted shorts is that the waistline typically falls under my belly button, but these ones are super high waisted and I don't have to worry about my undergarments showing because of how tight they fit me.

Charlotte Russe Perforated Ankle Cuff Sandals
I am absolutely head over heels for these sandals. This nude pink color is probably the only shade of pink I adore, and I just love the classic cutout design and chunky heels!

Technology
Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 II Lens
If you noticed the slightly (or majorly) enhanced quality of my recent photos, it's because of this amazing lens I got from eBay. It's typically called the "nifty fifty" because of its outstanding performance at such an affordable price. I love the super shallow depth of field which is perfect for fashion photos, and the sharpness and vibrance are incredibly impressive. The only downside is the very limited focal length, but I guess that's when my old zoom lens comes in handy.

Film
The Lego Movie
I was really hesitant at first when I saw the uninteresting trailer, but the 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes forced me to find out what it's really all about. I gotta say... it was actually pretty incredible. It was hilarious, epic, and sentimental in all the right places, and the animation is quite scenic. It also appeals to any audience, so definitely check it out while it's still in theaters!

That's it for March! I went a little crazy with spring shopping this month, so it would be way too much for this post if I included everything I love.
Thanks for reading!

  1. Naked basics is an amazing palette. You seriously can't go wrong with it! How is F21 nail polish? I've been wanting to get it because it's cheap, but it doesn't look like great quality either...

  2. @La Vie En May it is! and the F21 nail polish is actually pretty decent! it lasts more than a week for me with a good top coat, which I think is good enough for the price (:
