|"An artist is somebody who produces things that people don't need to have." - Andy Warhol|
Makeup is not a necessity, but it sure makes a woman feel great. Just like an artist sketching strangers on the streets, a woman decorates and enhances her visage to attain intrinsic happiness. She primes her face for a smoother surface like a painter priming a wall to seal the pigment, conceals her many imperfections like a draftsman erasing a blunder, explores a medley of shades on her eyes like an illustrator experimenting with various art styles, and paints her lips with bold colors like a photographer capturing the vibrant hues of nature. Art is a mode of individualism, and makeup reflects a sense of individuality, thus bringing internal satisfaction. We live in a world of endless wants, and creativity fulfills them. Women of this society are plagued with insecurities, but makeup conceals them. It exists to fill that lack of confidence just as art exists to feed an empty soul.
If confidence is what it takes to be happy, then paint your face away. It's your God-given canvas.
